Big Time Update!

It's been forever since I've updated my blog...as you can imagine, it's been quite hectic. But I thought that it was time to update my website and therefore my blog as well.

So it's been months and what has happened? Well...I'm married! Dennis and I got married on the 25th of July 2009. It was a simple ceremony in the church with friends and family (unfortunately my own family couldn't make it, but I'm sure they were there in spirit!). I will post pictures up on my website today (I hope!).

Also I have started SFI class again. I have a new teacher, Tanya. She's strict, not as easy going as Tapio is, but she's a good teacher. She will be good for getting me back into the groove of learning Swedish again.

We are also looking at less than two months until we go to Asia! I'm SOOOOOO excited! I've booked our hotel in Macau, the Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16. It looks lovely and I've found glowing reviews so really looking forward to that.

I am thinking that I will have to update this more often as trying to blog stuff that happened in the past is always quite tedious.

Time to update wedding photos on website!

Soo...

I knew it was going to happen eventually. I missed my bus to school. The last few months I've pushed the limits, running for the bus every day. And today, when I actually thought I had a little time to spare, I couldn't resist going through my e-mails and low and behold...I miss my bus. It was also doubly unfortunate that today, when usually the busses are a bit more spread out and I might have been able to catch one a minute or so later, all four that go around the same time passed my bus stop...and I just had to watch them drive away.

So here I am, thinking for the first time in maybe 15 years..."Dry". Dry was a term that we used in highschool to describe all matter of embarassing things, with a slightly negative connotation. And I feel that way today. Made me chuckle to myself though that I thought of this word. Ah the memories!

...finally a beautiful day

Finally we're having a nice day...well, fingers crossed we are. Yesterday Dennis and I went to visit his Grandmother to bring her a wedding invitation. I feel so dumb. Dennis pointed out that I had written the wrong number on the invite reponse insert. It's correct on the card though. I'm hoping that it won't make a difference...bah, we can just call them!

It was quite good, our visit. I was able to understand more Swedish. Dennis' grandmother doesn't really speak English. She understands for the most part. So most of the time it's a matter of if I can't say it in Swedish, I say it in English. This does work a lot better than the first time I went to visit her by myself. We had to devise a recipe for her Vetebullar and I couldn't speak Swedish, and neither she English. So it involved a lot of hand actions! There's something rewarding about finally being able to understand what people are saying. I mean, I don't understand all, that will come in time. But it's almost like a lightbulb goes on and a whole new world has opened up to you.

So...so much for the tour!

So I didn't go on the tour of Smedjebacken because I was too busy working on my website! I am kinda disappointed, as I was looking forward to it, but you know when you are on a creative streak...sometimes you just can't stop! Ah well, maybe next time. Shame though, it's a gorgeous day and what not...that said, I wouldn't have understood the tour anyway!

So...this is my first blog!

So this is the first of the "Little Girl in a Big Big World" series. What's up today? Well, I haven't eaten breakfast, and am quite hungry. However, I don't have much time to eat as I have to go on a guided bus tour of Smedjebacken in an hour. Looking forward to that actually. It will be four hours long with a nice "fika" break (Swedish coffee break with buns!) afterwards.

Feeling kinda lonely without Dennis, who has been in Uppsala this weekend, but it's been alright. I kept myself occupied by baking kladkaka yesterday and had my classmate Julia come visit. Also watched Eurovision 2009. Iceland should have won! Alas, Norway did, but meh, he was pretty good too! Malta should have done much better than 22nd place, but once people got past the voting for the best looking, voting for your political allies, voting for your neighbours, the poor thing had no chance!

I really should get ready for this tour. I will hopefully have some good pictures!
